Snow Queen is comming soon.

Here is what I have so far:
I am working on her wig now, not sure about her dress yet and I don't know if I should make a winter coat, the white fur sure looks great on her.
She has a light skin tone (lighter then my other girls) and some sparkly china paint which makes her look frosty :), very cold eyes and lips.

Red riding hood

So she is all completed now, and looking lovely.
Just in time for Christmas she is already sold and is going to her new loving home, I am very happy with her final look and I think those are the prettiest eyes I've made yet.

New face for red riding hood

I made a new face for my riding hood, I wanted to have her eyes with deeper blue and slightly larger pupils, also I've changed her upper legs for legs with non separate balls, so far I am very satisfied with the results.
She now has her dress and only left to make her red riding hood and shoes.

Three dolls comparison

So while making an outfit for my red riding hood is in it's process I decided to add a few more photos, here is a picture of my three latest prototype dolls, you can see the difference in size: Alice (14.5"), Sophia (a little under 12.5") and a little riding hood (a little over 12.5")

Here is a closer look at riding hood's face :

And here is her full view:

I made her thigh joint-ball separately for my own experience, it looks prettier while doll is standing up but for her sitting position you need to turn the ball around.

My perfect little girl :)

She is now strung and has her mohair wig on :

She is 12.5 inches tall, she has double jointed elbows and a single jointed knees. In her joints I used a very strong mix of polymer clay instead of previously used leather, it is in the same color mix as porcelain so that is why we don't see it, it served the same purpose as leather and prevents the porcelain joints from rubbing together, I love it, it works perfect, posing is easy and pleasurable, it will never wear off (because polymer doesn't) and it looks nice and neat.
So there is my new girl, little red riding hood is now waiting for her clothing, I will start to work on it next week, I now have another girl to bake in my kiln, she will have the same face mold as riding hood, only a few minor changes, the third in line will be a young snow queen.....a lots of ideas, very excited :)

Since I've put my little riding hood together I've been carrying her around my house and back and forth to my work shop, I like to look at her, she inspires me, and she has such a sweet look in her face- innocence, like I need to protect her. She is patiently sitting around wherever I put her and every time I look at her I feel joy and tenderness.

My little riding hood is out of the kiln now, she went through all of her china paint layers and now she is ready to be put together. She is super cute, I just love her chubby cheeks.

Here is a little sneak peek of those cheeks and cute belly button :

New girl in my porcelain family

This past month I have been working on a new prototype, it is a little girl around 8 to 10 years old. I wanted to make a child for a long time now and finally I made one.
I already have done all of my molds and poured the porcelain in, here is a preview of her face :

I have this vision of her becoming a red riding hood, but I don't know yet, we shell see :)

Geisha is finished

She is now all completed, her second wig is a very soft goats hair and looks lovely, the first one was done in viscose (synthetic) hair, both wigs hold perfectly on her head, her picture gallery is on my web site - here

Geisha in her dress

Here is her finished wig and dress, I am still to make one more wig for her, and i think it will be in dark brown, with loose, long locks.
The dress is made with stretchy fabric and it folds beautifully, i love the print on this fabric and I think it is a perfect match to my Geisha.

Geisha

Here is my new up coming doll Geisha, she is about to have her wig done, and the lovely hat you see on her is just a process of the way I am making my wigs.
She will have a pretty dress in kimono style, but not a traditional kimono.

Dressed Alice

I just finished sewing the dress for my Alice.
It is so funny to make a pattern for such a tiny one, but yes I made one just like I learned in the clothe designing school, I took all of her measurements and so on.... I am satisfied with the result. She doesn't quite look like a traditional Alice but I wanted to make a slightly different Alice. The violet chair makes her stand out and in the same time compleats the look. Now she is waiting for her white stockings and shoes.
I am so very happy with her i think I'll go dance and sing, okay maybe just whistle :)

Chair for Alice

Okay so this is the second chair I've made, it is so cool to display my dolls in it, and a wonderful add on to their beauty.
It is all made in real wood, the fabric was nailed in and some glue is involved too, many days of work but I think it worth it, and I am enjoying doing it.
Now I am in process of making a dress for my Alice, also have Geisha up coming.....
