My dolls in L'Officiel China!

So guys my friend Tiffa had sent me a magazine  L'Officiel China, the September issue is featuring three dolls I've made for her : Amber, Glass and mini Tiffa, the girls are the fashion models!!!
My friend Tiffa and her husband Steven Kesen did an amazing presentation, beautiful costuming, settings and photography, I am so grateful to them for making this happen and excited to see our little beauties in a fashion magazine.
I will post all the pages on my website soon.

Also, my dear friend had made me more shoes, so very pretty - I am in love with them!!!The words can not describe how sweet and talented this girl is :)

Making a dress!

I am making a dress for my Mongolian girl.
The process starts with finding the image of a traditional Mongolian dress, looking through a huge box of fabrics that I already have and/or buying more fabric :), in this case I had to buy suitable fabric and I couldn't be happier with the choice, then goes building the pattern - this is where my college notes come in handy although I am sure my teacher would give me that "rolled eyes" look.
Anyway all worked as planned and now I am at making the sleeves and the belt!

It's been a while since I've uploaded new pictures to my site, now I will add all the dolls I made lately, also will make a gallery for my older work. My website builder seems to be easy but I still need to learn how it works and all it can do so be patient and check back soon!

First doll with new leg joints!

Today I have finished assembling my new doll, she is the first one with my newly designed legs. Her knee joints are slightly thiner which looks more delicate when bent, the balls go more inside the joint and that helps the pose to be more sturdy.
I just enjoy posing her! In the near future I would like to make a video on posing my dolls...
This Mongolian beauty with rosy cheeks is already reserved!

As you have seen already in my earlier posts my friend Tiffa makes most beautiful shoes, she had made a new line with so many different styles of shoes and she takes orders!!!
My 13 inch doll's feet measure 3 cm long and about 12 mm wide, I think she has a variety of sizes. Feel free to drop her a line with any questions, here is her blog :

My dolly looks so beautiful wearing them I had to share :

Working on new knee and hip joints!

It had been a while since my last post, I had been busy with some new projects as well as working on my commission orders and had very little time keeping up my blog. Also I am in the process of changing my web site because I am having hard time with my old web site builder so it is the reason why I haven't added any new pictures to my site.

I have decided to change the knees and hip joints on my doll, so had sculpted the entire leg parts, today I am making the molds:

The new doll will be coming soon!
My next post I will show another project I've started, which I am excited about, it will add to the variety of orders I will be taking.

I didn't kill this little guy, I found him lifeless in my workshop and decided to keep him. The girl on the photo is getting her china paint layers done.

"Angel's eyes" now on eBay!

Hello friends, I have listed on eBay my new beautiful doll "Angel's eyes", the auction will go on for 7 days!
Here is the link : Angel's eyes

This it the first doll from my latest prototype and as you noticed has the double jointed hip which gives her more posing variety. She is 13 inch (33cm) tall - my favorite size, I also have the single jointed hip for this prototype which makes her slightly shorter (the example of this type joint you will see soon :).
The wings took me many hours to make, they are very light (just like angel's wings should be :)), glued feather by feather from both sides, a small fur vest to hold them in place.
Her dress/corset (love making corsets by the way) is made with tiny zipper in the back, and a few swarovski crystals to decorate her outfit.
Her face I can not describe, it leaves me speechless, so let the picture speak for it self!

New doll!

She is waiting for her wig.
I will upload more pictures of her later, maybe next week, I would like to give her a beautiful hair!
She is 13 inches tall and has double jointed hips, so can do more positions, I as well have the single jointed hips for this prototype.
I think her face is beautiful and very sweet, I really like the effect of sculpting with beads for her eyes, it makes the eyes look more life like.

Sculpting head with glass beads eyes.

Was taking some pictures as I was working on my new head, I used glass beads for the eyes, they are 8mm cracked glass beads and have an amazing color.
This is the head for my new model girl, she will be about 12.5 inches in size and I will show the first results already within a few days.

The tools I am using for sculpting.

Starting as usual with lighter color clay over a darker one ( prosculpt over super sculpey)

%) not very pretty yet, but two holes like that are necessary for inserting my beads.

Starting to look like something :)....alien?

..... little smile and nose shape, not bad.

Got carried away and forgot to snap a shot, now her lips are there and eyes took shape.

Profile, sweet.

Time for ears....

Cute, you think?

All done, now she needs to bake and only will be left to mold her.

The girl in the back will be my next doll, in fact she is baking right now in my kiln to her final porcelain stage. I can't wait to present her to you.
